Assistant Professor, Communication Studies

Description of Duties:

The University of Houston-Downtown seeks three (3) Assistant Professors of Communication Studies to join a rapidly growing program offering a B.A. in Communication Studies with developing concentrations in Corporate Communication, Rhetorical / Public Communication, Interpersonal Communication, and Health Communication, along with minors in Communication Studies and interdisciplinary minors in Film Studies, Religious Studies, and Gender Studies. Successful candidates will begin in August 2013 and will be expected to teach a range of undergraduate communication courses with a special focus in one of the three following areas: Organizational Communication, preferably with a background in Public Relations. Interpersonal Communication, preferably with a background in Media and / or Film Studies, Health Communication. Sustain an active research agenda. Display an ongoing commitment to committee work and community involvement.
