Description of Duties:

Under the direction of the Director of Marketing & Communications, the Web Developer will help fulfill the institution’s communications, messaging and brand strategies through Blinn College’s website. The Web Developer will oversee the operations of the website and serve as the lead web content strategist to ensure a well-integrated, data-driven messaging plan that is current with industry technical and design standards. Plan, develop and manage content strategy for blinn.edu, and ensure that it meets the College’s standards, quality and style

Required Qualifications:
4-6 years advanced demonstrated experience in developing websites and graphic design Demonstrated proficiency with HTML, DHTML and XML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, web forms, web commerce, Google Analytics and other associated technologies Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Demonstrated expertise and proficiency with development software such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Acrobat, Dreamweaver, Fireworks and Flash Demonstrated knowledge of web best practices, including web writing principles, information architecture, site design, branding, accessibility, search engine visibility and usability Demonstrated expertise in integrating websites with back-end systems such as databases Able to juggle multiple projects, work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines Ability to work well under pressure and within cross-functional teams that may include writers, editors, designers, photographers, programmers, developers and project managers Excellent time, project management and organizational skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Standard publishing quality photography skills, including the ability to operate advanced digital equipment

Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience as website administrator/developer of site with similar scope and size Master’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, information science, management information systems or related field Previous experience working in higher education Experience with website content management systems and email marketing systems
