Adjunct Professors - Medical Administrative Assistant Program

Description of Duties:

Virginia International University's School of Business is currently seeking qualified applicants for the Spring 2011 semester for our Medical Administrative Assistant undergraduate program. Courses: Accounting, Coding, and Insurance Processing; Computer Applicatons in the Medical Office; and Law and Ehtics for Medical Assistants. Duties: The adjunct teaching faculty performs duties relating to the delivery of curricula in an in-classroom setting. This includes, but is not limited to planning and developing lesson plans, managing the classroom activities, provides the students with guidance to accessing resources supporting the course objectives, grading assignments and providing timely feedback to the students during their class hours and via other channels of communication. The adjunct faculty supports relevant University initiatives, and is provided with a variety of opportunities for professional development. Requirements and Qualifications: Master's degree in discipline area or eighteen (18) hours post graduate work in discipline area required; doctorate in discipline area preferred. Successful candidates will have extensive industry or teaching experience, together with excellent organizational and communication skills, ability to utilize a variety of teaching styles, and deliver instruction to students with diverse learning styles. *Local applicants preferred.
